The NZ Art Show is the most important event on the calendar for art lovers up in New Zealand. That’s because it’s the country’s largest sale of affordable art that provides the opportunity for any New Zealander to pick up some original New Zealand art.

Hundreds of New Zealand artists will contribute over a thousand works of art across the three-day event at the TSB Bank Arena in Wellington.

On offer will be pieces from established artists alongside emerging artists from all over the country. Everything on show will be up for sale so there’ll be plenty of work to go around, but you might have to get in early to get exactly what you want.

Held over the Queen’s Birthday weekend at Wellington’s TSB Arena, all artworks are under $5,000. The NZ Art Show is the ideal place to start or add to your collection of original NZ art.

If for nothing more, it’s an interesting way to see and get a feel for the work that’s currently being produced by the leading artists in New Zealand.

Kiwis have loved LEGO for years. In the past, the biggest event on LEGO-lovers calendars has been Brickcon NZ. This year, it is going by a slightly different name – the Wellington Brickshow, however, for fans of LEGO here in New Zealand, it is still the ultimate event.

The event has been held in Palmerston North in recent years, however, this year, it returns to Wellington. The Brickshow is a two day LEGO Fan expo open to the public, displaying some of New Zealand’s best and most creative builders as well as plenty of public interactive activities.

Run by WELL-LUG – the Wellington LEGO User Group, they also hold more regular meetups in Wellington, Palmerston North and Hawke’s Bay. You can find out more over on their website and discover the latest and upcoming events.

It really is a fantastic gathering and one that is hugely popular, especially with the massive play pit they have. Be sure to get your tickets early for this one!
