  • Bry from HQ Ticketing Team

Heading south from Christchurch to Dunedin, I highly recommend stopping at the Cookie Time Factory Shop (789 Main South Rd), then Temuka to see some of Aotearoa's finest pottery (57 Vine St, Temuka), then Caroline Bay in Timaru for a walk on the beach, Oamaru for Steampunk HQ (1 Humber St, Oamaru) and Moeraki for the most impressive boulders in the land. Once in Dunedin, visit Baldwin St - the steepest residential street in the world, 660 Castle St - the birthplace of NZ band Six60, and St Kilda Beach. Great eats on George Street can be found at Buster Greens and Patti's, and Cream offers fantastic ice cream. Then just beyond Dunedin is the Otago Peninsula, home to albatross, Hoiho, our native, yellow-eyed penguins, and the gothic Larnach Castle.

  • Sarah from HQ Reservation Team

Here is an image with my niece of the Moeraki Boulders. Great place to have a stop along the way to Dunedin and capture some photos of these iconic boulders created over millions of years. The best time to visit low tide.

  • Jay from Christchurch Branch

Blue Penguin Colony Oamaru - Want to fall in love with the world's smallest penguin? Only reaching the height of a Ten-Pin Bowling Pin, this flightless bird is one of many small birds NZ has to offer. Visiting the blue penguin is best between dusk and sunset, this is when they are returning from their daily foraging and back to their beds. Tours are available to be booked and are always recommended for the best opportunities to see these wee guys.

  • Xin and Jay from Christchurch Branch

The Fishwife -Nestled in the picturesque village of Moeraki, The Fish Wife is a seafood lover's paradise. It may only be open 3 days a week, but it's a bite you would never want to miss out on. With stunning views over the beach and a nice little pier to walk along, this rustic, harborside open-sided restaurant offers stunning views over the bay and a menu that truly celebrates New Zealand’s seafood.
