If you’re looking for an excuse to stretch the legs in May, you can’t go past the Plunket Fun Runs for 2019. Taking place in Auckland, Tauranga, Wellington and Christchurch they present a great fitness challenge while also raising money for a fantastic cause.

There are a number of different courses at each event with a range of distances and formats to choose from. The shortest courses start at a 3km buggy run/walk all the way up to 24km. There’s even the opportunity to enter a team as a relay for the 24km run.

With stalls, BBQs and a good all-round atmosphere, the Plunket Fun Runs will be a great day out for the whole family.

Just thinking about this one makes the tummy rumble. We’re of course talking about the Bluff Oyster and Food Festival in the rustic seaside town of Bluff!

Bluff Oysters are known for their meatiness and intense flavour and are collected from deep beds in the Foveaux Straight. They are hugely popular and highly sought after with people travelling from all around the country to attend this festival in their honour.

The festival also showcases many other food types with plenty of vendors manning stalls and there’s also a great entertainment line-up as well.

An easy May event to include as one of the best in New Zealand.
