8. Dolphin Encounter

The Dusky Dolphins number in their hundreds off the coast of Kaikoura and these warm and inquisitive creatures love meeting new visitors. 14. Stand Up Paddleboarding

Another popular on-water activity (with slightly less risk) is Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) and there’s no better place to do this than the stunning Lake Wanaka.
